Do you love meeting new people and sharing your knowledge of wildlife? We are looking for a Guide in the Hide for our Fingringhoe Wick nature reserve, to be the Trust’s mouthpiece showing visitors wildlife and telling them about points of interest on the reserve.
Need to know
With a good basic knowledge of wildlife you must feel confident in engaging members of the public from all different backgrounds to foster an understanding and interest of the wildlife on the reserve. You must have an adequate level of fitness as you will need to walk across uneven terrain.
Whilst walking around the reserve you will also be responsible for ensuring that the site is clear of litter and dealing with any inappropriate activities and referring any issues to the Site Manager as necessary.
You must be comfortable with recording your wildlife sightings on our Biological Records website and the sightings board in the visitor centre.
Regular volunteers are entitled to attend two free wildlife training courses per year.
