Events Volunteers assist the Visitor Experience team during the delivery of events, group visits and educational sessions at RSPB Arne nature reserve. Visitors come for a range of hands on activities, such as bug hunting, guided nature walks, pre-school and school sessions, and, in the summer, our, Big Wild Sleep Outs.

Project Description
Our events programme aims to give young people and adults the chance to get close to nature, and we are looking for people to support our Team to make sure they get the most out of their experience.
We'll give you training and experience to build your confidence in helping people have wonderful hands-on experiences with nature. We can potentially give you the skills to kick start a career in leading nature groups, visitor experience or environmental education.
You'll be part of a small friendly team of staff and volunteers and have the opportunity to make new friends.
Essential Skills/Experience:
An enthusiasm for engaging people with nature and a willingness to learn new skills
A love of wildlife, and an interest in the environment/conservation
A resourceful and flexible approach to be able to cope with a wide variety of ages and abilities of groups
Abundant enthusiasm and excellent communication skills
Ability to communicate effectively with children of differing needs and levels of understanding
Ability to work as part of a busy team
Good organisation skills
Desirable skills/experience:
Some ecological knowledge of habitat types would be an advantage
Some knowledge of the local history of the area would be an advantage
