Project Description

Every month Dorset Wildlife Trust picks a key species found in Dorset to focus survey efforts. In the past these have included the likes of the stag beetle and slow worm.

The idea is simple - if you see the chosen species when out on a walk in your local area, visiting your nearest heathland, or simply sitting in your garden then let us know. All we need from you is the date, how many of the species there were and the location it was seen at.

This information helps us get a better understanding of the distribution of the chosen species and how big the population is, as well as any potential declines in population size.

Each month there is something new to look out for, with full details provided on the website link in sign up information.
