Project VolunteerMaking a Buzz for the Coast
This exciting project, funded by the Heritage fund, spans 135 miles of Kent’s coastline from Dartford to Deal, and focuses on restoring and creating habitat for Kent’s wild bees, especially the Shrill carder bee (Bombus sylvarum). In addition to raising awareness and inspiring people to take action for bumblebees!
Need to know
We have a wide range of volunteer opportunities: practical conservation, bumblebee/wildflower surveys (training provided) or engagement (events, workshops, walks/talks). We have a wonderful community of volunteers all along the coastline. We cover travel expenses at 20p per mile when volunteering with us and provide lots of extra free training and courses for volunteers, such as Wildflower ID for beginners.
