Project Description

Our practical conservation volunteers are an essential part of the team working on nature reserves across the county. Volunteers help with practical conservation management to maintain the sites special features for now and for the future.

Penorchard Meadows is a series of unimproved grasslands and holds many wildflower species such as knapweed, bird’s-foot trefoil, eyebright, dyer’s greenweed, common spotted orchid, ragged robin, jointed rush and lesser spearwort. Scrub clearing to prevent encroachment is an important task that takes place to maintain the meadows for wildflower species.

Work parties take place on the 1st Monday of every month at 10am.
