High Meadow is a rolling downland stretching right into the town of Dover. It is home to colourful flowers, and butterflies. Volunteer conservation tasks this winter will mostly include clearing scrub and bramble, maintaining footpaths, steps, gates and fences. You can take home any logs you cut whilst working to improve the chalk downland.

Project Description
SCRUB CLEARING, HIGH MEADOW, DOVER
10:00am to 15:00pm on following dates:
10th November, 3rd December 2019, 7th January, 4th February and 3rd March 2020.
LEADER: Matt Weiss, White Cliffs Countryside Partnership (07880 706993). MEET: Near the concrete steps (opposite Anselm Road), Noah’s Ark Road, Dover.
WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING WITH YOU Bring plenty to drink and lunch if you intend to stay all day. We usually provide water, squash, tea and biscuits. We provide an experienced leader, training and supervision, tools and gloves, but please bring your own gear if you prefer.
WHAT YOU SHOULD WEAR • Sturdy boots or safety shoes (not trainers) with good grip and thick soles • Old clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty or torn • Long sleeved shirts and trousers to protect your limbs • Waterproofs/ wellies if rain forecast.
