Project Summary

Project Description

We are always on the look-out for new volunteers – there are so many potential benefits.

For you – good healthy exercise in beautiful places,

and for the wildlife and habitats around us – we work in woodland, grassland, wet places and downland to improve the environment for nature and of course for ourselves.

Volunteers will be using handtools - bowsaws, loppers, rakes and handforks, fencing tools, occasionally scythes. Some of the team will be certificated power tool users and will be using chainsaws and brushcutters. We will provide the tools for the work. If you are a chainsaw or brushcutter user, you will need your own PPE and you should have attended a refresher course in the last five years. We can offer training in First Aid and a brushcutter operators course to some volunteers.

We provide refreshments in mid-morning and mid-afternoon., but please bring your own mug, your packed lunch and working gloves with you. Also bring waterproofs, suitable footwear/work boots.
