Project Description
As part of the project, local farmers have been creating a series of chalk scrapes and banks on their land. These are a fantastic opportunity to establish new chalk grassland, and to create more varied microhabitats in the process. Get involved to help turn these blank canvases into prime invertebrate habitat!
The first three sessions will all be meeting at the NNR, up the unmade farm track from Stanton St Bernard (no access from the A4 at West Kennett): https://maps.app.goo.gl/ZARGikFXgk4agNB99. Final session location TBC.
Take part and help make our vision a reality!
Wiltshire Wildlife Trust is facilitating volunteering opportunities for this part of the Chalk Species Revival project, which is a collaboration between the National Trust, Wiltshire Wildlife Trust, RSPB, Natural England and the Pewsey Downs Farmers Group: https://wiltshirechalk.org.uk/chalk-species-revival/
