Project Description

What you will be doing

  • Promote WCBS in your local area via branch newsletters, social media and other methods with the aim of recruiting new volunteers to the scheme.
  • Support WCBS volunteers by providing advice on setting up a route, carrying out the survey and data entry.
  • Co-ordinate the WCBS in your area by allocating survey squares to recorders and maintaining a record of who is doing what.
  • Remind local WCBS volunteers to survey their squares at the start of the season and submit their data at the end of the season.

The skills you need

  • An interest in butterflies, moths and/or biological recording. Please note you do not need to be able to identify butterflies or moths for this role.
  • Good planning and organisational skills
  • Excellent communication skills and enjoy supporting and volunteering with like minded people
  • You will need access to email and the internet
