We are looking for an Immersive Volunteer to join an energetic & innovative team at Box Hill. The site is home to some rare habitats and an experienced and enthusiastic team of volunteers & rangers. This opportunity is available from Aug 2025 – Jun 2026

Project Description

What's involved?  • Supporting estate management involving countryside maintenance tasks such as grass cutting, litter picking and maintenance of estate furniture such as gates, stiles and fences.
• Supporting habitat management of Box Hill's chalk grassland and ancient woodland this will involve scrub cutting, coppicing, dead hedging, monitoring grass sword and cattle grazing.
• Motivating groups of volunteers and helping to ensure compliance with National Trust health and safety policies and guidelines.
• Interacting with the public to be able to answer queries and provide information about the property ensuring high standards of customer care as a representative of the National Trust.
• Engaging with visitors to teach them about Box Hill in a creative and imaginative way.
• On occasions there may be opportunity to take on other duties/projects that may be available or linked with your personal interests/ personal development.
• Undertaking biological surveys to monitor our flora and fauna.
• You can volunteer for up to 30 hours a week over no more than 12 months. Accommodation may be available and can be discussed at interview.
