Project Description

Dorset Countryside Volunteers

Helping care for our countryside

We are a well established group who volunteer some of our time at weekends to help care for a wide range of sites throughout Dorset. You will find us helping the National Trust, Dorset Wildlife Trust, Heritage Coast, Amphibian and Reptile Conservation, the Tyneham Project, and many more.

Traditional countryside tasks such as hedgelaying, coppicing, pond restoration, and dry stone walling are just a few of our activities.  We also help look after footpaths, for instance building steps and stiles.
