Keen on hill walking, live on Deeside, and interested in learning more about your local wildlife? This opportunity provides you the ideal opportunity to get involved in monitoring one of the Cairngorms National Park’s rarest species, the beautiful Mountain Burnet.

Project Description
The monitoring involves counting adult moths on sunny days on Morrone, the hill behind Braemar. This takes approximately 3 hours just once or twice a year. You will join an enthusiastic existing network of volunteers monitoring the moth across various site in June and July.
- Transport and travel: 201 bus is available from Aberdeen to Braemar
- Minimum age: For this activity, it is 18. If you are a parent and would like to attend with a young person, please contact the event organiser to discuss what the minimum age would be for this activity with adult supervision.
- Clothing: Please bring appropriate footwear (waterproof boots with firm ankle support), gloves, and appropriate clothing for the weather forecast.
- Insect repellent & sunscreen:
- Food, drink and breaks: Bring water and food for the task described above.
