Project Description

This task is reasonably physical in nature, but don't worry - you'll be working in a group, and encouraged to break frequently to admire your handywork. All tools will be provided for you, as well as light refreshments and hot drinks.

Our Projects for 2025 and 2026 include:

  • Planting of new woodland (a diverse mix of 17 species, but primarily aspen and Scots pine
  • Stop and reverse the loss of native woodland, shrubs and wildflowers primarily due to historic overgrazing
  • Establishing three new northern hay meadows (rare, but ecologically important grassland habitats)
  • Wetland restoration
  • Stock fencing removal and recycling
  • Maintenance of current trees (tree guard removal, weed/competition management to avoid weevil infestations etc.)
