Volunteer Assistant Ranger
Project Summary
You will be asked to assist with a range of tasks on Slapton Ley National Nature Reserve: footpath management; invasive species removal; scrub clearance and coppicing; tree planting and habitat creation; monitoring; working with volunteers; carrying out a personal conservation project.

Project Description
This voluntary role offers the opportunity to gain experience and knowledge in practical conservation and nature reserve management. This is a stepping stone for those seeking a career in conservation. There will be in-house training where appropriate and some external training may be available. Ideally you will need to be physically fit and happy to work out in all weathers. Some experience of using hand tools would be helpful, but no qualifications are required. 4/5 days a week for 6 weeks between mid November and mid February.
Subject to successful completion of DBS. A room in shared accommodation and access to a shared kitchen will be provided.
